Exploring the possibilities of the colour ‘white’ in a polar bear.

Though we saw this mountain in the summer, it is magical to imagine it with the first sign of snowflakes … one large fluffy snowflake coming up to our vantage point. This is from the viewpoint on Sulphur mountain in Banff.

As the sun rose across the top of Haleakala the moon was bathed in its own soft colours. 

This piece was inspired by our motorcycle trip out west.  I marveled at the stunning beauty everywhere, with a wide-open vantage point from the motorcycle.  It was a breathtaking experience.

The Shuswap Sticker Series was developed by guests at a lake-side cabin. They created an initial sketch of their impressions of the beauty around them and artist Lisa Hari collaborated with them to complete the art.

This is an acrylic painting of colourful gladiolus to cheer up your day. I plant these flowers in our garden every year and I am mesmerized by their beauty and colourfulness every summer. I just wanted to share this beauty of nature with you and wish you well for the upcoming summers.

Paths through the poplar forest are no more magical than in the winter when the shadows are cast in shades of purple over the snow.   Some see shades of grey, but I think purples are far more fun!  

This painting was inspired by the lush marshes around Neon Lake at Alberta’s Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area.  The standing poplars,  beautiful vibrant yellow and green grasses against the water reflecting the blue sky are just one more beautiful scene the Alberta landscape has to offer. 

While I was painting this piece I was feeling the temperature of fall– not too hot because summer is done but still humid enough to feel a bit of warmth – and so here are the beautiful warm colours of autumn.
