So, this is literally the view from my window - at work with a few artistic choices of course, but the colours in the painting are pretty true to the scene. I often look out my window over Walker Yard in Edmonton and am drawn to the array of colours, shapes and sizes of the rail cars. It is incredible how so many objects around us, seemingly mundane, can be truly interesting if we look closer. So often the rail cars have been marked by artists along the way, and while some of the graphics are relatively simple, some are truly extraordinary. Next time a train passes by, have a look at the rail cars and see if there are any notable works of art as they pass.
